At Rice Road Community Church, we enjoy reaching out to the community around us and to the ends of the earth.
Locally
We intentionally seek to reach out to the students at Niagara College, those located in the neighbourhoods around the RRCC training facility and to those who are financially oppressed.
We have a new initiative entitled "Reface Welland" that launched in July 2008. This involves the employment of two students to organize a ministry that helps people who are unable to care for their homes due to financial restraints. They organize teams of people to: paint their homes, fix their porches, mend their fences and even do some landscaping to help them do what they are unable to do for themselves. We want to share the love of Christ in practical ways and to fulfill what Jesus said He came to do in Luke 4:18-19.
We also facilitate 2 semesters of ALPHA (one in the RRCC training facility and one on the Niagara College Campus - Campus Alpha) as a means of assisting people answer the important questions in life.
Globally
We are also making preparations to send a young family from our midst out into the mission field in July 2009. Chris and Terri Payk (and their two children) have been called by God to minister in Taiwan. They are very enthusiastic about fulfilling God's will for their lives and we seek to support them as they follow His lead.
